Maya Jackowitz is a visual artist based in coastal Connecticut. She works across various mediums to create a visual expression of her relationship to her personal environment, taking inspiration from the natural world and rural life. Reminiscent of traditional American folk art, Maya’s work contains a multitude of repeating motifs, imagery and colors, focusing on feelings of softness and nostalgia. Maya specializes in creating one of a kind stained glass hangings and adornments, hand crafted prints, as well as ceramic homeware, and knit garments.
Maya received her BFA in Printmaking with a minor in Bookarts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2023. Currently, she works as a sign artist at her local Trader Joe's, freelance graphic designer, and art teacher.
